Golden marksmanship: Ukraine and India dominate the shooting competitions

Today's men's rapid-fire pistol shooting competition required the highest level of concentration and speed from the shooters. Five shots had to be fired precisely within a very short time - a challenge that increased the pressure on the six top athletes enormously. But the Ukrainian Serhii Ohorodnyk showed nerves of steel and was in the lead from the start. With an outstanding performance, he secured the top position in both rounds and crowned himself the winner with 555 rings. At the same time, he set a new qualification world record and left the competition no chance.

His compatriot Oleksandr Kolodii followed him in second place, while the Indian was delighted with the bronze medal. For the German participant Martin Böhlke, things did not go as hoped in the first round - with only 67 rings, he was unable to make up the deficit in the second round.

The men's 50-meter rifle shooting in the "3 positions" discipline was also very competitive today. In the qualification round, the German shooters Sebastian Herrmany and Erik Hess secured their place in the final. But the Indian, who set a world record in the qualification round, was unbeatable. The German Deaflympic winner Colin Müller only just missed the final.

In the final, the Indian Shourya Saini prevailed confidently and won gold. Second and third places went to Ukraine. Sebastian Herrmany took a respectable fifth place, while Erik Hess came in sixth.
